They'd been talking about it for a while, and the desire to tour together had been growing stronger and stronger. That of touring together. Friends since the last century. They share humanist values and a voracious appetite for freedom. But it's also a conception of their profession in all its dimensions of sharing, meeting and relating to the Other that unites them. It's probably all this, in addition to their artistic quality, that unites them with such a large, inter-generational and absolutely loyal audience.
The [now 5] Ogres and the [now 4] members of La Rue were already all looking in the same direction. The one that leads to a French song that's uninhibited, generous, lively, sincere, poetic or overexcited, in love or in protest, always open to all winds. But tomorrow, for the first time, these nine will be playing together. And it's going to be a great party! Of course, they'll be revisiting the staples of their respective repertoires, but they'll also be appropriating a few songs by other artists, and they probably won't be shying away from presenting new songs created for the occasion.
